About

An independent
software studio.

Runaway Studios Inc. is a family-founded Chicago software studio — the studio behind Intellijoy — shipping consumer and custom software for over a decade.

Our work spans two worlds that don't usually sit together: children's educational apps that have reached tens of millions of families, and AI assistants that quietly operate real email, calendars, and accounts over an ordinary text message. What connects them is a bias toward software people actually use — every day, without having to think about it.

As Intellijoy's corporate-services division, the studio's roots are in software that's been shipped, maintained, and used at scale: Intellijoy's early-learning apps have passed 50 million downloads across more than 25 million families and carry Google Play's “Top Developer” badge. Runaway Studios operates within Anahoret, Inc., the corporate entity behind Intellijoy. More recent work includes Wren, a live AI assistant you reach on a single phone number.

The studio stays small and hands-on. Fewer handoffs, a shorter path from an idea to something real, and — under Jacob Turetsky — the same people on the work from first sketch to shipped release.

A AI-assisted, end to end

We build with AI in the loop from first draft to shipped code — and we put that same leverage into the products themselves. It's how a small studio covers a lot of ground without cutting corners where it counts.

B Small and direct

No account managers, no layers. You talk to the people designing and building the thing, and decisions happen in one conversation instead of five.

C Built to ship — and keep running

We'd rather put a real, working thing in your hands than a polished demo. Software that stays up and keeps doing its job is the whole point.

D Honest about status

Every project says plainly where it stands — shipped, beta, or prototype. No inflated claims, on the work or anywhere else.
